Etsy is required to collect and remit sales taxes on behalf of its sellers in most states.

To grant sales tax exemption for Printify merchants using Etsy and avoid double-taxing, it is possible to fill out our sales tax exemption form, which will confirm that sales tax collection is being performed by Etsy on your behalf.

Please note that this form should be used if you’re not required to hold a seller’s permit. If you already have a seller’s permit, please submit a resale certificate instead.

1. Navigate to the Taxes section in your Printify account.

2. Input or double-check your existing account details, provide your signature and click “Submit”.

3. All set! Sales tax won’t be applied to your imported Etsy orders, if Etsy has already collected it.

Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to apply sales tax exemption on orders that have been created manually in Printify — instead, we recommend that you use the approach described here.
