How can I add a gift message to a manual order?
You can add a gift message to a manual order regardless of the sales channel you’re using, as long as the order is fulfilled by one of the supported Print Providers. Follow the steps below to create a manual order with a gift message.
It’s also possible to manually add a gift message to an “On hold” order imported from any sales channel by editing it in Printify. For example, if your Etsy customer mistakenly added a “note to seller” instead of a gift message.
Step 1: Enable the gift message feature
Start by enabling the gift message feature for your store. In your Store settings, navigate to the Gift messages tab and click the toggle next to Enable gift messages for all eligible orders.
You have the option to enable gift messages with the default template containing just the message, or personalize it using a logo and customized fonts to match the look and feel of your store.
Step 2: Create a manual order
Navigate to the My products section and click Create order → Manual. Then, select from your existing products, ensuring that you choose products fulfilled by supported Print Providers.
For a list of supported Print Providers, visit the Gift messages tab and click on the hyperlink. Alternatively, apply the “Gift messages” filter in the Catalog to find supported products.
Step 3: Add a gift message to the order
During the final stage of manually creating an order, you’ll encounter the option to include a gift message. Simply input the message text and click Add.
You’ll be able to confirm that the message has been added successfully when it appears under “Package inserts”:
Step 4: Submit the order for production
Finally, you can choose a payment method for the order if you haven’t set up one for your account yet. If you have already done so, you can submit the order for production immediately or save it for later.
- Proceed to payment: Choose one of the following payment methods to pay for the order: credit or debit card, or by topping up your Printify account balance.
- Submit: This option sends the order to production immediately.
- Save for later: This option keeps the order “On hold” and allows you to send it to production at a later time by clicking Submit order.
