How can I sell coffee products on TikTok Shop US?

To sell Printify’s coffee products on TikTok Shop US, you first need to obtain approval from TikTok for the coffee products category. Follow the steps below to complete the approval process and get started with this consumer product category on TikTok.

Step 1: Obtain an order invoice

TikTok classifies Printify merchants as resellers, requiring a purchase invoice that aligns with the selected product category—in this case, coffee products. An order invoice containing a coffee product can be used for full approval in the coffee category.

To obtain a valid order invoice and required product photos for TikTok Shop category approval, place a sample order for a coffee product. You can later repurpose the sample for social media giveaways. After ordering, go to Invoices, download the invoice, and keep it ready.

Note

The invoice must be from an order that includes coffee products and must have been issued within the last 180 days.

Step 2: Take photos of the coffee product

TikTok requires real photos of the product’s outer packaging (not mockups). Take at least five photos, including:

Front and back views of the product
A clear shot with the product name, net weight and ingredients
A clear and detailed shot of the “Nutrition Facts” label on the side
A clear and detailed shot of the manufacturer information under the nutrition label

Note

Ensure that the “Nutrition Facts” label is clearly visible on the product. Do not submit a photo of just the label; the entire product must be visible in the image. Your photos should be clear, high-quality, and well-lit; otherwise, your category approval request may be denied.

Step 3: Create a product on TikTok to apply for category approval

Go to the TikTok Seller Center to start creating a product on TikTok Shop. This step is necessary to apply for category approval.

Note

You don’t need to actually create a product—this process simply grants access to the category request.

Log in to TikTok Seller Center. Go to Products → Manage Products → Add new product.
Select “Roasted Whole Coffee Beans” from the category dropdown.
Click Apply now (refer to the image below).
In the new window, complete the Add Category Authorization steps by filling out the following fields:
- Seller Self-Identification (All sellers): Select “Reseller”.
- Product Photos of Food Labeling (All sellers): Upload your product photos.
- Proof of Purchase (Resellers only): Upload your sample order invoice.
Once done, click Submit.
After submission, you can exit the product creation process without saving.

Step 4: Publish products after approval

After submitting your application, allow TikTok time for review. Check the Category qualification page in TikTok Seller Center to confirm approval. Once approved, you can start listing coffee products on TikTok Shop US.

If you’ve followed the steps but still encounter a publishing error, your category approval may be pending or rejected. You can check your status in the Qualification Center within TikTok Seller Center.
