How do I connect a custom domain to my Pop‑Up store?
Connecting a custom domain gives your Pop‑Up Store a more professional look and can help strengthen your store’s identity and recognition, while also building trust with customers.
There are two ways to connect your domain, depending on your domain provider. Simply follow the steps below to set this up.
Automated setup (recommended)
Entri Connect is a domain connection service that we have partnered with to make the connection process incredibly easy. You can set this up in just a few easy steps, and it’s instantly set up for you. No need to configure anything manually.
To add your custom domain automatically
- Go to your Pop‑Up Store dashboard → Settings → Your domains section.
- Click Connect existing domain.
- Enter your full domain name (e.g., yourstorename.com) and click Continue.
- Entri Connect will now find your domain provider. Select your provider (e.g., GoDaddy) from the list or search for it by name.
- Click Authorize, then log in to your provider when redirected.
Once authorized, Entri Connect will automatically connect your domain, and you won’t need to add records manually.
To add a custom subdomain automatically
- From your Pop-Up Store settings → Your domain section, click Connect existing domain.
- Tick the checkbox I want to use a subdomain and enter your full subdomain (e.g., shop.yourdomain.com).
- Click Continue.
- Entri Connect will find your domain provider. You can select your provider (e.g., GoDaddy) from the list or search for it by name.
- Click Authorize, then log in to your provider when redirected.
When you add a custom subdomain through the Pop-up Store feature, you don’t need to make any manual changes to your DNS settings. The connection is set up automatically, so you can simply select and add your subdomain in the Pop-up Store settings.
Manual setup (if your provider isn’t listed)
If your domain provider isn’t listed in the automated setup, you can still connect your domain manually.
To add your custom domain manually
- Follow the same first 3 steps as the automated domain setup.
- In the Select your domain provider section, scroll to the bottom and click Can’t find your provider?
Entri Connect will display two A records (a special code) that you need to add to your domain provider’s settings. It will look similar to this:
- Open a new tab in your browser and log in to your domain provider’s account.
- Look for a section called DNS Settings, DNS Management, or Zone File, etc. This is where you manage your domain’s records.
- Find the option to Add New Record or Manage DNS Record.
- Select A as the record type and carefully copy and paste the Host name and Value exactly as provided by Entri Connect into the corresponding fields.
- Make sure to copy both provided A records.
- Once you’ve saved the A records at your domain provider, go back to your Pop-Up Store’s domain settings and in the modal, click the I have added records to my domain’s provider button.
To add your custom subdomain manually
- Follow the same first 3 steps of connecting a subdomain automatically
- In the Select your domain provider section, scroll to the bottom and click Can’t find your provider?
Entri Connect will display a CNAME record (a special code) that you need to add to your domain provider’s settings. It will look like this:
- Open a new tab in your browser and log in to your domain provider’s account.
- Look for a section called DNS Settings, DNS Management, or Zone File, etc. This is where you manage your domain’s records.
- Find the option to Add New Record or Manage DNS Record.
- Select CNAME as the record type and carefully copy and paste the Host name and Value exactly as provided by Entri Connect into the corresponding fields.
- Once you’ve saved the CNAME records at your domain provider, go back to your Pop-Up Store’s domain settings and in the modal, click the I have added records to my domain’s provider button.
What happens next?
- DNS propagation: It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours (sometimes up to 48 hours, though usually much faster) for your domain provider’s changes to update across the internet. This is called "DNS propagation."
- Confirmation: Once the changes propagate and Entri Connect verifies them, your custom domain will be successfully connected to your Pop-Up Store. You will see a Connected status next to your domain name in your settings.
What do I do if the domain connection didn't work?
In rare cases, the automated setup may not correctly configure the DNS settings, causing the domain to still point to the old website (or to no destination at all). Make sure that 48 hours have passed before proceeding with the next steps.
In those cases you should first remove the domain from Printify by clicking the trash icon next to the domain.
Then, go through the connection process again, but instead of logging in to the detected provider, click go to our manual setup. From there, follow the manual connection steps and configure the DNS records in your domain provider’s admin dashboard.
General rules for custom domains
- You can use a unique domain or subdomain for each Pop‑Up Store.
- Both top‑level domains (like yourdomain.com) and subdomains (like shop.yourdomain.com) can be used for your store’s URL.
- Your printify.me domain will remain active even after you add or remove a custom domain. It will automatically redirect visitors to your custom domain. After removing a custom domain, your printify.me domain will become your store’s primary URL once again.
If your domain isn’t connecting after a few hours, especially for manual setup, double-check that you’ve entered the text record exactly as provided by Entri Connect, without any extra spaces or characters.
