What is the Trends tool and how do I use it?
Printify Trends is your real-time insights tool for spotting what is hot online and quickly turning it into products your customers will love. It scans social media, marketplaces, and online conversations around the clock, then highlights sales opportunities tailored for print-on-demand merchants.
With Trends, you do not need to spend hours researching or guessing what will sell. You can act fast, be first to market, and capture demand while it is at its peak.
Step 1: Open Printify Trends in your Dashboard
In your Dashboard home page or the Catalog, you will see an orange Trends banner. Click See what’s trending to open the tool and start exploring the top insights of the week.
Step 2: Explore trending topics and pick your opportunity
Inside Trends, you will see a list of the current top 10 trending topics. For each trend, you can:
- Learn why it is trending and which audiences are driving it
- Understand how fast it is growing with the Growth rate
- See how saturated the trend is with the Competition score
- Select a trend to go to the next step
Step 3: Create a design for your products
After selecting a trend, you have two options:
- Generate design now: create a design with the built-in AI Image Generator
- View and edit prompt: adjust the prepared prompt before generating to add your own flair
After the design is generated, you also have the option to remove the opaque background.
Step 4: Select and publish your products
You will see a selection of Printify Choice products that match the trend with your design previewed. Choose the ones you want to sell and click Edit products and publish.
From there you can click:
- Edit design: adjust the placement, remove backgrounds, add text, and more
- Edit listing: update the title, description, mockups, pricing, and more
When your edits are complete, click Publish, and your products will go live in your store.

How often does Trends update?
Trends refreshes daily to show the most relevant opportunities based on current online conversations and marketplace activity.
Do I have to use AI-generated designs with trends?
No. You can always upload your own artwork and apply it to products.
What does the Growth rate mean?
Growth rate shows how quickly interest in a trend is increasing based on social and marketplace data.
What does the Competition metric mean?
Competition shows how many sellers are already acting on the trend. A lower score means less saturation and potentially more opportunity.
What products can I use in Trends?
Automatic design generation in Trends works best with products that have square design areas, such as T-shirts, tote bags, mugs, sleeveless shirts, and towels. For now, Trends only supports products from the Printify Choice collection. You can also use Trends just for insights and then create your products the usual way in Product Creator.
Does Trends check for copyrighted or trademark issues?
Trends filters out many topics that may cause issues, but it does not guarantee full protection. You are responsible for ensuring that your designs do not infringe on intellectual property rights. If our automated copyright detection system flags your product when orders are placed, the order may be put on hold until the design is updated.
