How do I set up shipping with Squarespace?
When using Squarespace with Printify, you can choose from the following shipping setup options:
- Free shipping: Best if you plan to sell different types of products. You can include each product’s specific shipping cost in its retail price, which simplifies setup and avoids inconsistencies when products have different shipping rates.
-
Flat rate shipping:
- Best if you want to charge shipping separately but are selling products with the same or very similar shipping rates. Flat rate rules can be set up to mimic “additional item” pricing and are easier to configure and manage than weight-based shipping.
- This option is also ideal if you want to offer free shipping for your domestic market while applying flat rates to other destinations.
- Weight-based shipping: This method can also be used to replicate additional-item rates, but it’s more complex to set up since each product must have a weight assigned. It has similar limitations to flat rate shipping, so it's not our recommended approach.
To set up one of these options, watch our video or follow the steps outlined below.

Free shipping
When setting up free shipping, you’ll need to increase each product’s retail price to cover the shipping costs. Use Printify’s shipping rates to determine how much you should raise the retail price.
Step 1: Create a free shipping option in Squarespace
- From your Settings menu in Squarespace, go to Selling, then Shipping.
- Next, choose Add shipping option, followed by Flat Rate.
- Name this option “Free Shipping” and set the fee to USD 0.00.
- At the bottom, add the countries you'd like to offer free shipping to.
- Click Save.
Step 2: Include the shipping cost into the retail price
When creating your Printify products, ensure to set the retail price higher — adjust it based on the shipping rates displayed in the pricing table.
Example: Your desired retail price for a t-shirt is USD 19.99. The shipping cost from your chosen Print Provider is USD 4.75 (within the US). Set your final retail price to 19.99 + 4.75 = USD 24.74.
Finally, to ensure your shipping setup is working as expected, we recommend logging out of Squarespace, navigating to your storefront, and testing the rates by adding some products to the shopping cart as a customer.
Flat rate shipping
This option is suitable if you’re starting out with products that all have the same or similar shipping costs.
Step 1: Find your Printify shipping rates
Look up Printify’s shipping rates for the product and destination you’re setting up. Make sure you note both the "First item" and "Additional item" rates.
Example:
For T-shirts fulfilled with Printify Choice and shipped to the U.S., the rates are $4.75 (first item) and $2.40 (additional item).
Step 2: Calculate the per-order fee
Subtract the "Additional item" rate from the "First item" rate. This amount will be used as the "per order fee" in Squarespace.
Example:
$4.75 − $2.40 = $2.35
Step 3: Create a Flat rate shipping option in Squarespace
- From your Settings menu in Squarespace, go to Selling → Shipping.
- Click Add shipping option, then choose Flat rate.
- Name the shipping option (for example, “Standard”).
- Enter the shipping rates:
- Per order: $2.35 (first item - additional item)
- Per item: $2.40 (additional item)
- At the bottom, add the countries the rates should apply to.
- Click Save.
With this setup:
- A single item order is charged $2.35 + $2.40 = $4.75
- Each additional item adds $2.40, matching Printify’s rates
Step 4: Repeat the process for other countries (optional)
If you would like to add flat rates for other countries, repeat the process by adding more flat rates for each additional country.
Finally, to ensure your shipping setup is working as expected, we recommend logging out of Squarespace, navigating to your storefront, and testing the rates by adding some products to the shopping cart as a customer.
