How do I set up shipping with Squarespace?
When using Squarespace with Printify, you can choose from the following recommended shipping setup options:
- Free shipping: Choose this option if you don’t want to spend much time setting up shipping. This means raising each product’s retail price to absorb the shipping costs.
- Flat rate shipping: This is the right option for you if you’re starting out with a few products that all have similar shipping costs. You can check our shipping rates here. Note that the same flat rates that you create will apply to all of your products.
- Weight-based shipping: A good option if you’re going to be selling products of the same type, such as t-shirts. When choosing this option, make sure to use the same Print Provider for your products.
To set up one of these options, watch our video or follow the steps outlined below.
In this article:
Free shipping
When setting up free shipping, you’ll need to increase each product’s retail price to cover the shipping costs. Use Printify’s shipping rates to determine how much you should raise the retail price.
Step 1: Create a free shipping option in Squarespace
- From your “Home” menu in Squarespace, go to “Selling,” then “Shipping.”
- Next, choose “Add shipping option,” followed by “Flat Rate.”
- Name this option “Free Shipping” and set the fee to USD 0.00.
- In the “Shipping Zones” tab, select the country that will have the free shipping option (e.g., the US).
- Click “Save.”
Step 2: Include the shipping cost into the retail price
When creating your Printify products, ensure to set the retail price higher — adjust it based on the shipping rates displayed in the pricing table.
Example: Your desired retail price for a t-shirt is USD 19.99. The shipping cost from your chosen Print Provider is USD 5.19 (within the US). Set your final retail price to 19.99 + 5.19 = USD 25.18.
Finally, to ensure your shipping setup is working as expected, we recommend logging out of Squarespace, navigating to your storefront, and testing the rates by adding some products to the shopping cart as a customer.
Flat rate shipping
This option is suitable if you’re starting out with a few products that all have similar shipping costs. You can check our shipping rates here.
Step 1: Create a flat rate option in Squarespace
- From your “Home” menu in Squarespace, go to “Selling,” then "Shipping.”
- Next, choose “Add shipping option,” followed by “Flat Rate.”
- Name this option “Flat Rate” and add a “per item” rate based on Printify’s shipping rates for a particular country. If the products you’re planning to sell have slightly different shipping rates, use the average as your flat rate.
- In the “Shipping Zones” tab, choose the country that will have this flat rate option (e.g., the US).
- Click “Save.”
Step 2: Repeat the process for other countries (optional)
If you would like to add flat rates for other countries, repeat the process by adding more flat rates for each additional country.
Finally, to ensure your shipping setup is working as expected, we recommend logging out of Squarespace, navigating to your storefront, and testing the rates by adding some products to the shopping cart as a customer.
Weight-based shipping
Using this shipping setup, the shipping costs will be calculated at a reduced rate for orders with multiple items. Consider this option if you’re selling products of the same type, such as t-shirts.
If you plan to sell a mixture of different types of products, we recommend choosing either the free shipping or the flat rate option instead.
Step 1: Choose a weight-based shipping option in Squarespace
- From your “Home” menu in Squarespace, navigate to “Selling,” then “Shipping.”
- Select “Add shipping option,” then choose “Depending on Weight.”
Step 2: Add the weight-bases rates
- Enter a name for this shipping option, such as “Shipping” or “Standard Shipping.”
- Calculate and add the rates for orders with multiple products. Assign a weight of 1 lb to your product, as shown in the table below. The actual product weight doesn’t matter, as this is used solely to differentiate the product quantity.

Number of products | Shipping cost (USD) | Weight (lbs) |
---|---|---|
1 | 6.00 | 1 |
2 | 6.00 + 2.00 = 8.00 | 2 |
3 | 6.00 + 2.00 + 2.00 = 10.00 | 3 |
Step 3: Select a country for these rates
Navigate to the “Shipping Zones” tab and choose the country to which this option will apply. Click “Save.”
Step 4: Repeat the process for other countries (optional)
If you want to add weight-based rates for additional countries, simply repeat the process described above.
Step 5: Set up the weights of your products
After creating the weight-based rates for one or more countries, it’s crucial to set up the weights of your products. Squarespace doesn’t automatically assign any weight to your published Printify products, so follow these steps:
- In the “Home menu,” click “Pages.”
- Navigate to your store page.
- Click “All.” (Note: Squarespace version 7.0 displays all products automatically.)
- Double-click on a product, then scroll down and select “Advanced Shipping.”
- Add the value of 1 lb (based on the previously described weight setup) to the “Weight” field.
- Ensure to apply the same weight to each product variant.
- Click “Apply,” followed by “Done” → “Save.”
Make sure to repeat the same steps for your other products.
Finally, to ensure your shipping setup is working as expected, we recommend logging out of Squarespace, navigating to your storefront, and testing the rates by adding some products to the shopping cart as a customer.
