What does “dropshipping” mean?
Dropshipping is a modern, risk-free business model that requires low investment on the seller’s (merchant’s) part. The idea is that a store owner sells products – but never stores inventory themselves. The merchandise moves directly from the supplier (or Print Provider) to the final consumer without ever being handled or stored by the retailer.
What about Print on Demand – is it the same thing?
The print-on-demand (POD) business model involves dropshipping: the supplier/Print Provider ships the product directly to your customer. However, the main difference with print on demand lies in the ability to customize the products that you’re selling.
The print-on-demand business model gives you the creative freedom to design and sell your products to your customers without any financial commitment on your part.
