What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on Printify?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your Printify account. After entering your password, you’ll be asked for a one-time code from an authenticator app on your phone. Even if someone gets hold of your password, they won’t be able to log in without access to your device.
Here’s how to set it up
- Go to Account & Help → Account Settings → Login Details.
- Click on Enable two-factor authentication.
- Open an authenticator app on your phone — such as Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator — and scan the QR code shown on screen. If you can’t scan it, enter the setup key manually instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app to confirm the connection.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe before continuing. You’ll need them if you ever lose access to your authenticator app.
Once setup is complete, you’ll be prompted for a 6-digit code every time you log in.
Logging in with two-factor authentication enabled
After entering your email and password, Printify will ask for your 6-digit authentication code. Open your authenticator app, find the current Printify code, and enter it.
If you no longer have access to your authenticator app, click Use a recovery code instead and enter one of the codes you saved during setup. Each recovery code can only be used once.
Managing your two-factor authentication settings
You can update your 2FA settings at any time from Account & Help → Account Settings → Login Details → Enable two-factor authentication:
- Disable Two-Factor Authentication — removes the second login step from your account.
- Regenerate recovery codes — creates a new set of backup codes and invalidates the previous ones. Do this if you’ve used most of your codes or think they may have been exposed.

| Recovery codes give you a backup way to access your account if you lose your device. | Each recovery code can only be used once. |
FAQs
Who should set up two-factor authentication?
2FA is recommended for anyone who wants stronger security on their Printify account — and especially important if your account is connected to a live store or managed by more than one person. Each team member manages their own 2FA settings individually.
Which authenticator apps are supported?
Any standard authenticator app works, including Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, and 1Password. You don’t need to install a specific app — use whichever you already have.
What are recovery codes, and where should I store them?
Recovery codes are one-time-use backup codes generated during setup. If you ever lose access to your authenticator app, you can enter one of these codes instead of the 6-digit code to log in. Store them somewhere secure — a password manager, an encrypted file, or a printed copy kept in a safe place. You can regenerate them at any time from Account & Help → Account Settings → Login Details, but doing so will invalidate any unused codes from the previous set.
What happens if I lose access to my authenticator app and don’t have my recovery codes?
Contact Printify Support through this form. To verify your identity, you may be asked to confirm details about your account.
Can I require my whole team to use two-factor authentication?
Not yet. At launch, 2FA is optional and set up by each team member individually. The ability for account admins to require 2FA across the entire team is planned for a future release.
