Why can’t I publish my products to WooCommerce?
If you are having trouble publishing your products to WooCommerce, the following is a list of common reasons that may be causing the issue.
You haven’t completed your WooCommerce store setup
If you’re having issues with publishing your products to WooCommerce, it is very likely that you haven’t completed the setup of your WooCommerce store.
To ensure your store is fully functional, make sure that you’ve completed the following steps:
- Chosen hosting
- Installed WordPress
- Activated WooCommerce
- Picked a theme (we recommend using Storefront as it’s a free theme that’s built and optimized for WooCommerce)

You have installed a plugin that is not compatible with Printify
If you are unable to publish your products, it might indicate a conflict with one of your installed plugins.
When first connecting to Printify, we recommend starting with only your Printify and WooCommerce plugins activated to ensure that your WordPress and website hosting are set up correctly. Once your first product has been published successfully, you can add more plugins as you wish.
We have prepared a list of the most frequently used plugins that have been tested to work with Printify with the default plugin configuration:
| Plugin | Functionality |
|---|---|
| WPForums Lite | Form builder plugin designed for beginners. |
| Akismet Anti-Spam | Filters out your comment spam. |
| MailPoet | Send customizable emails to customers. |
| Contact Form 7 | Customize your forms and mail. |
| WooCommerce Payments | Accept online and in-person payments, track revenue, and handle all payment activity. |
| Facebook for WooCommerce | Reach your customers across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. |
| WooCommerce Shipping & Tax | Shipping options by WooCommerce. |
| WooCommerce Stripe Gateway | The Stripe plugin extends WooCommerce allowing you to take payments directly on your store via Stripe’s API. |
| Yoast SEO | Gives you the tools to optimize your content for SEO and overall readability. |
| Really Simple SSL | Automatically configure your website to use SSL. |
| Jetpack* | Security, performance, and growth tools. |
| LiteSpeed Cache | Reduces page load time. Cache-management tools and optimization features. |
| Classic Editor | Allows use of plugins with old-style meta boxes, or otherwise depend on the previous editor. |
| All-in-One WP Migration | Allows you to export your site's content, media, plugins, and theme to a file. |
| MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress | Helps you manage and talk to your clients, customers, and other interested parties. |
| Wordfence Security | A security plugin. |
| WooCommerce PayPal Payments | Allows to securely accept PayPal Digital Payments, credit/debit cards, and local payment methods. |
| Elementor | Build, manage, and host websites. |
| Google Listings and Ads | Makes it simple to showcase your products to shoppers across Google. |
| TikTok | Allows you to sync your store catalog, install the TikTok pixel, and set up ads. |
| UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore | A backup/restore/clone/migration plugin for WordPress that simplifies backups (and restoration). |
| PixelYourSite | Automatic Events will track important actions and send them to all your configured pixels (searches, form submit, comments, downloads). |
*The free version of Jetpack, with its default settings, is compatible with Printify’s WooCommerce integration. However, some additional configurations for this plugin may cause compatibility issues. We recommend testing the store integration with default settings first, and then adding the necessary configurations while monitoring for any publishing or order syncing issues.
Your REST API or permalinks are blocking publishing
Printify relies on your store’s REST API. If the API or permalinks are misconfigured, publishing can fail.
- In WordPress admin, go to Settings → Permalinks and select any structure except Plain. Click Save.
- Open https://yourstore.com/wp-json in a browser. You should see a JSON response (not a 401/403/404 error).
- If you get an error, temporarily disable security plugins (see next section) and test again.
A plugin, theme, or cache is conflicting with Printify
Conflicts are common and easy to isolate.
- Temporarily deactivate all plugins not listed in the table above.
- Switch your theme to Storefront.
- Clear all caches:
- Your caching plugin (e.g., LiteSpeed Cache, WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache)
- Any server or CDN cache
- WooCommerce transients via WooCommerce → Status → Tools → Clear options
- Attempt publishing again. If it works, re-enable plugins in small batches to find the conflicting one.
Try a fresh publish (duplicate or recreate)
For first-time publishes or stubborn products:
- Duplicate the product in Printify and publish the duplicate.
- If that fails, recreate the product from scratch and try publishing again.
