How can I calculate the profit per product?
In the “Product performance” dashboard, you can calculate the profit per product: export detailed performance data on the sales of a particular product and its variants, then create profit and loss calculations by adding your retail prices and fees per listing (if applicable).
For example, choose a specific product and calculate the profit it generated over the last year by following these steps:
- In the “Product performance” dashboard, choose your preferred values in the filter above. In this example:
- Time Range: Previous Year
- Product Name: Select a specific product.
- Click on the green Update button to the right of the filters.
- Performance data by product variant will be displayed in the Your product sales table.
- Select Download data to export it, then choose your preferred file format.
- After opening the spreadsheet, insert additional columns for retail price data, fees per listing, and other fees per product.
- In one of the columns, calculate the cost per item by dividing the total cost by the number of items sold.
- To calculate your profit, subtract the fees and costs per item from the retail price.
