Do I need insurance to sell Food, Health & Beauty products?
When it comes to our Food, Health & Beauty category products, the liability rests with the manufacturer and/or Print Provider. In case of a customer complaint related to the content of an ingestible product, please contact them directly.
While there is no requirement for you to hold insurance when selling Printify’s Food, Health & Beauty products, it can be a good idea in some cases for additional business protection against lawsuits and for peace of mind.
- Product liability insurance for eCommerce sellers or small business owners, which covers legal costs and damages if a product causes injury, illness, or property damage, is an option worth exploring to determine if it’s right for you.
- If you’re a content creator, it might be worthwhile to consider content creator insurance. This insurance safeguards against legal action from promoting, recommending, or endorsing third-party products, particularly if someone alleges personal injury caused by those products.
As stated in our Terms of Service (for example, clause H5-L), you, as the merchant, are responsible for accurately representing the products you sell in your store. You are not permitted to make any claims about a product beyond what the Supplier provides.
