How can I improve the visibility of my Etsy listings?

On October 1, 2024, Etsy introduced changes to the search visibility of the US listings offering domestic shipping. Listings with domestic shipping prices under USD 6.00 are prioritized in search results over those with shipping prices above USD 6.00.

This change applies to all US domestic listings, except for the following:

Digital listings.
Listings shipped from US sellers to non-US destinations.
Listings shipped by sellers from outside the US.
Listings priced over USD 35 from shops that offer a free shipping guarantee.
Listings that use calculated shipping.

What should I do considering the changes?

To account for these changes, you may consider the following options:

Offer free shipping: You can offer free shipping using the free shipping option on Printify. When you activate this feature, the cost of the cheapest shipping option will be subtracted from your current profit margin, so you might need to adjust your pricing manually. Adjust shipping costs: If offering free shipping isn’t an option, you can split the shipping cost: price your shipping under USD 6.00 and include the remaining shipping cost in the product price. Use Etsy’s Bulk Edit Tool to update your shipping prices easily via the Seller Dashboard.
No action required: You may also choose not to make any changes, in which case no action is necessary, but your listings may receive lower search visibility.

In addition to the shipping price, here are other factors that can help prioritize your listings in search results:

Maintaining average ratings above 4 stars.
Responding to customers within 48 hours.
Keeping your case rate low.
Including high-quality images in your listings.
Having a return policy (even “no returns” is an acceptable option).
