How will the tariffs affect Printify prices?
At the moment, prices are not changing. And you have our commitment that we will not change prices unless it becomes essential to do so.
The impact of tariffs differs from product to product. It depends on the nature of the product, and its location and origin.
There is also a chance that tariffs like the ones being talked about could have a wider effect on the global economy. Our partners could face higher costs for parts, production, and other costs.
In some cases, if tariffs persist and do affect products and locations, then we may have to increase prices. But if we do so, we will do our best to keep them to a minimum and give you as much notice as we can.
As well as price rises, there are other things we can do, things that we’re always doing like improving our systems and software, sharpening our processes, reducing our reprint rates, and we will do all of those to the best of our ability.
Is Printify absorbing any of the tariff costs, or is the full 25% passed to sellers?
Yes, in some cases we are absorbing costs where we can. We can’t add any detail on where exactly, because it’s changing all the time. Tariffs are announced, then paused, then put back, then adjusted. We have a team working on this almost around the clock. But yes, when we are able to absorb some to look after merchant profitability, we are doing that.
Which specific products will see price increases due to the tariff?
This is something that changes almost by the day. For the moment, it appears that apparel products are the most likely to be affected, but there are some others, for example, depending on their country of origin and location.
Will these tariffs affect fulfillment costs, shipping, or both?
Tariffs would mainly affect fulfillment costs, however, it is difficult to know how the differences in regulation surrounding, for example, the removal of the de minimis exemption might affect shipping costs. Our team is continuing to look into this and we’ll keep you updated.
Will products fulfilled locally be exempt from these tariffs?
Yes. Products made and sold in the same country will not be affected by tariffs. But bear in mind that in some cases the blank product may originate from a different country which could affect the applicability of some tariffs.
Will these tariffs affect shipping times?
At this time, we don’t anticipate any delays in shipping due to the tariffs. Our logistics teams are on top of it to ensure your products reach your customers as scheduled.
Should I adjust my product pricing?
We are not raising our prices right now, so there’s no need for you to make any changes right now. However, if these tariffs do come into effect and stick around, prices might have to go up. We’ll do everything we can to minimize the impact they have on your business, and we’ll make sure to give you as much notice as we can if that happens.
So, keep an eye on your inbox for any updates. But for the moment, nothing is changing.
