How to design meaningful gifts in seconds using the Printify App in ChatGPT

The Printify app in ChatGPT helps you create and order personalized gifts through a simple, guided experience. You start by sharing your gift idea, and the app generates a design, applies it to a product, and guides you through checkout. This article walks you through the full process.

Step 1: Install and connect the Printify app

Log in to ChatGPT.
Open the Apps section.
Search for Printify and connect the app.

Step 2: Invoke the app with the correct prompt

To make sure the Printify app activates, include “Create a gift” in your prompt.

Example prompts:

“Use Printify to create a gift for a friend moving away.”
“Use Printify to create a personalized T-shirt for a friend who loves hiking.”

You can also manually add the Printify app to your prompt using the + menu in ChatGPT.

Tip

Prompts like “Design a gift” or “Send a gift” may not currently trigger the app.

Step 3: Generate and refine your design

The app generates a print-ready design based on your description. Designs are optimized for print-on-demand requirements such as resolution and safe margins.

Tip

You can refine the design by continuing the conversation. For example, adjusting colors, style, or tone.

Note

Embroidery isn’t supported at this stage.

Step 4: Select a product

Your design is automatically applied to a curated set of products selected for gifting:

T-shirts
Hoodies
Tote bags

Step 5: Customize your order

Choose your preferred:

Color
Size
Quantity

You’ll also see estimated delivery times and base pricing before checkout.

Step 6: Review your cart and checkout

Checkout takes place on a secure Printify-hosted page outside of ChatGPT. You’ll be asked to provide:

Contact details
Shipping address (including gift recipient details)
Payment method (credit card or Google Pay)

Step 7: Order confirmation

After confirming payment:

Your order is submitted for fulfillment via Printify Choice.
You receive a confirmation email with your order summary and billing details.

Additional information

The app is currently available only to US users, but orders can be delivered to other regions.
The app is free to use and doesn’t require a Printify account.
Order confirmation emails don’t include tracking links at this stage.
