How do I upgrade my product visuals using AI mockups?

AI mockups make it easy to create product visuals that feel real and engaging, without leaving the Printify platform or using additional tools. Instead of starting from scratch, you can place your existing designs into a variety of lifestyle settings, helping customers better imagine how your products look and feel in the real world.

If you already have a design you’re proud of, AI mockups can give it the setting it deserves. Whether you want to showcase different environments, models, or moods, this feature offers a new way to present your products while complementing the mockups you already use.

AI mockups are available as part of Printify Premium, with 10 generation attempts per day (renewing every 24 hours). Some merchants may also have limited access during the rollout of the feature.

Create AI mockups for new products

1. Start by choosing a product from the Printify Catalog and clicking Start designing.
2. In the Product Creator, upload your design or choose an existing one.
   • Adjust the design placement as needed to make sure it’s ready for mockup generation.
   • Click Save product.
3. When the Mockup library opens, select the AI-generated tab, then Generate mockup.

4. In the Generate your mockup panel:
   • Select a Product variant (color) and the Print area you’d like to display.
   • Describe your AI mockup: Choose between With model (lifestyle scene) and Close-up (detailed product view). Review and adjust the prompt options (model type, age range, appearance, pose, and expression).
   • Choose a Background: pick from preset backgrounds (Cozy room, Urban environment, Studio light, Nature, Modern cafe, Sunlit blinds) or write a custom prompt.
   • Click Generate mockup to create your AI mockups.

5. Review and select your AI mockup.

Once the mockup is generated, you’ll see a confirmation message that your mockup is ready. Choose one of the following options:

• Click Select mockup to use this mockup for your product.
• Click Regenerate to create a new variation with the same settings.

6. Generate more AI mockups for the same product.

• In the Mockup library, stay on the AI-generated tab.
• Click Generate more with AI.
• Adjust the mockup settings (such as model attributes or background).
• Generate additional AI mockups for the same product.
• Select the mockups you want to use and continue with your product setup.
   

Upgrade mockups for existing products

You can also generate AI mockups for products you’ve already created and published.

1. Go to My products and select the product you want to update.
2. In the Selected mockups section, click Use AI.
3. This will open the right-hand side section, where you can edit the prompt and generate your mockups.
4. When you’re happy with the results, select Apply to listing.
5. Make sure to republish the updated mockups through selective publishing to your sales channel so the changes are visible in your store.
