How can I use the images provided by Shutterstock?
Through our integration with Shutterstock, you gain access to millions of images without any upfront cost. You can use these images to create and publish as many products as you want, and only pay for the image usage once the product is sold.
The images are divided into two collections. The pricing is as follows:
- Essentials collection: USD 0.99 per image.
- Full collection: 17.5% of the Printify production cost (with a minimum fee of USD 1.49).
For example, if you choose an image from the Full collection and the Printify production cost is USD 20, the fee will be 17.5% of the production cost, which is USD 3.50 (since USD 3.50 is higher than the minimum fee of USD 1.49).
Follow the steps described below to create a product using Shutterstock images.
Step 1: Choose a product from the Printify Catalog
Select a product from our Catalog and click Start designing. Next, choose the Shutterstock option in the Product Creator sidebar.
Step 2: Choose one of the image collections
Once the image library is open, you’ll be able to choose between two collections of images:
- Essentials collection: A large selection of the most popular stock images from Shutterstock.
- Full collection: Choose from over 300 million different images.
Step 3: Find an image that you like
Use the search bar to find suitable images. You can apply filters and sort the search results to help you find the most suitable image:
- Photo: Photographic images
- Vector: Digitally created images that can be resized easily, without diminishing their quality
- Illustration: Digitally created designs
Step 4: Add additional variants to the product
To add additional color or size variants to the product, click on Select variants. Then, adjust the final file placement on the product and click Preview in the top right corner. Once you’re satisfied, click Save product.
Step 5: Adjust the other product details
During this step, choose the preferred mockup image view, and adjust the product description, title, and pricing.
You can also preview the final Printify production cost (inclusive of the Shutterstock fee):
Step 6: Publish the product
Finally, click Publish to make the product available in your store.
Additional information
-
By using the integration, you agree to follow the Terms of Service.
-
You are purchasing the right to use the image for the chosen product via Printify. However, the image itself can’t be downloaded.
-
Due to the aforementioned reason, it will only be possible to use the Printify mockups for these products.
-
It is possible to use multiple Shutterstock images for the same product, however, in that case, the image fee will apply to each unique image, resulting in an increased production cost. The suggested retail price is increased automatically.
-
You may duplicate the same image at no additional cost. The fee will remain the same regardless of the number of times the image is duplicated.
- Shutterstock images are licensed and may occasionally become unavailable. If this happens to the image you’re using, an “Image expired” notification will be displayed in My products. Please ensure to either remove the product from your store or change its design, as ordering it will no longer be possible.
