How do I set up sales tax through my sales channel?
If you’re selling via a stand-alone store, and have determined that you have a nexus with a state, the next step should be to register for a sales tax permit with the state to start collecting sales tax in your store. Once you have a sales tax permit (seller permit), you can start collecting sales tax in your store. Check the links below for more information on setting up sales tax.
In these cases, we recommend that you submit a resale certificate to Printify, so that orders that import from your store are exempt from sales tax in Printify.
Marketplaces: Etsy, eBay US, and TikTok Shop US
Etsy, eBay US, and TikTok Shop US are registered as marketplace facilitators in the majority of states and are required to collect and remit sales taxes on behalf of their merchants. To avoid double taxation, orders carried out through our direct integrations with these marketplaces will be automatically exempt from sales tax charges.
Unless you have nexus in these states, you will not be required to do any additional remitting. Read more.
Printify Pop-Up Store
Sales tax, if applicable, will be automatically applied to the order at checkout as Printify handles order payment.
