How do I set up sales tax through my sales channel?
If you sell through a stand-alone store and have determined that you have nexus in a specific state, you must register for a sales tax permit (or seller permit) there to start collecting tax.

Marketplaces (Amazon US, Etsy, eBay US, TikTok Shop US and Big Cartel)
Amazon US, Etsy, eBay US, and TikTok Shop US are registered as marketplace facilitators in the majority of states and are required to collect and remit sales taxes on behalf of their merchants.
While Big Cartel is not a true marketplace, it still collects and remits sales tax on your behalf. You can learn more about that here.
To avoid double taxation, orders from these sales channels are automatically exempt from sales tax charges on Printify. Unless you have nexus in these states, you generally do not need to remit additional taxes. For more specific information, please reach out to sales channel representatives or tax consultants.
Printify Pop-Up Store
With the Pop-Up Store, you won’t have to pay upfront for your orders. However, behind the scenes, two transactions are taking place: one between the customer and the merchant, and another between the merchant and Printify. Since you are purchasing goods from Printify, we may charge you sales tax unless you submit a valid resale certificate.
Sales tax will not be applied directly to your customers, and no tax will be deducted from your payouts, making you solely responsible for handling your tax obligations. We recommend factoring the sales tax amount into your retail price to ensure you can cover any taxes due later.
