How do I create text designs?
You can include personalized text on your Printify products using the built-in Text Editor. Text can be used on its own or alongside your print file.
Adding text to your design
In the Product Creator, click Start designing, then select Add text from the left sidebar. A text box with an "Enter text" placeholder appears on the canvas.
Double-click the text box to enter edit mode and type your text. When done, click anywhere outside the text box to exit edit mode.
To add more text elements, click Add text in the sidebar again. Each element is tracked as a separate layer — you can view and manage all of them in the Layers panel on the right side of the canvas.
Moving and resizing text boxes
To move a text box, first click outside it to exit edit mode. Hover over the text — the cursor changes to a hand icon — then click and drag to reposition it on the canvas.
To resize a text box, select it (single-click when not in edit mode) and drag any corner or edge handle.
Formatting your text
Select a text box to reveal the formatting toolbar at the top of the canvas. Available options include:
- Font — choose from available font families in the drop-down
- Size — set the font size
- Bold and Italic
- Alignment — left, center, or right
- Text color
- Curved text — arcs the text along a curve; also adjustable in the right panel
- Apply to all areas — adds the text layer to all print areas simultaneously (e.g., front, back, sleeves)
- Save as template — saves the current text layout as a reusable template
Non-Latin characters and emojis
The Text Editor supports non-Latin characters, allowing you to add text in a variety of languages to your products or packaging inserts.
Please note that not all fonts support non-Latin characters. If your selected font doesn't display the chosen language correctly, choose a compatible option from the drop-down menu.
You can also use emojis in your text. The Text Editor doesn't include an emoji picker, but you can add emojis by inserting them directly into the text field from an external source. Keep in mind that their appearance may change slightly as emoji libraries are updated over time.
