Why is the product information overwritten when the product is updated?
When you update a product in Printify, the changes are synced to your sales channel to ensure accurate order fulfillment. In some cases, this can result in existing product information being overwritten. This article explains why that happens, when full updates occur, and how to selectively update product details if you want to keep custom changes in your store.
Since orders are imported automatically, it’s vital that the product information in your store matches what is in Printify. This ensures your customer receives exactly what they ordered. Generally, we recommend making all changes within Printify rather than on your sales channel (like Shopify or Etsy), followed by republishing to keep everything in sync.
However, be aware that if you’ve made changes to the design, its placement, and/or the available color/size variants and click “Publish” as shown below, the entire product will be updated and overwritten.
What if I don’t want to update all product details?
In case you have made some changes to the product in your sales channel – for example, you may have updated the product mockup images to custom product images – note that you can update the product details selectively. That way, you can control what needs to be updated. Check the box only for those product details that you want to update:
