Why does my DTG garment have a smell?

If your DTG (direct-to-garment) garment has a slight odor when you first receive it, there’s no need to worry. This is a normal part of the DTG printing process and will go away after washing.

The scent comes from a fixation agent (also called a pre-treatment solution) applied before printing. This solution helps the ink bond properly with the fabric. Without it, the print may not last as long and could begin to flake over time.

Rest assured, this is completely normal in the DTG printing industry, and the smell will disappear after one wash.
