How do I customize my store’s navigation menu in the Store Builder?
The navigation menu is one of the first things buyers see when they visit your store. With the configurable navigation menu, you can control which links appear in your header, how they’re labeled, and how they’re organized—making it easier for buyers to find what matters most.

How to access navigation settings
You can open navigation settings in two ways:
Option 1: From the store preview
- Click the navigation bar in the store preview.
- In the quick toolbar, click Navigation settings.
Option 2: From the sidebar
- Open the Pages section in the left sidebar.
- Select the Navigation tab.
Both options take you to the same navigation panel where you can manage all menu items.
Adding a navigation item
To add a new item to your menu:
- In the navigation tab, click + Add item.
- Select the item type.
- Choose the target (for example, a page or collection).
- Enter a navigation title (up to 50 characters).
- Click Save.
The new item will appear at the bottom of the list. You can reorder it after saving.
Navigation item types
When creating or editing a navigation item, you can choose what it links to:
- URL – links to any internal or external page
- Collection – links to a product collection
- Catalog category – links to a product category in your store
- Dropdown – creates a parent item that contains sub-items
Editing or removing a navigation item
To edit an item:
- Click the item in the navigation list.
- Update the item type, target, or title.
- Click Save.
To remove an item:
- Open the item.
- Click Delete item.
You can also duplicate an item by selecting Duplicate item, which is useful for creating similar links quickly.
Reordering navigation items
To change the order of items:
- Drag and drop items using the handle on the left side.
The order in the list matches how items appear in your store’s navigation menu.
Adding sub-items (dropdowns)
You can create dropdown menus by nesting items under a parent item.
To add a sub-item:
- Select a top-level navigation item.
- Click + Add sub-item.
- Configure the sub-item as needed.
Sub-items will appear as a dropdown under the parent item in your store.
Resetting the navigation menu
To restore the default menu:
- Go to the bottom of the navigation tab.
- Click Reset to default.
This will restore the automatically generated menu based on your store’s categories.
Publishing your changes
Navigation changes are not visible to buyers until you publish your store. Once you're happy with your menu, click Publish in the top right corner of the Store Builder.
