Does Printify charge tax on local sales in Australia and New Zealand?
Yes, all items printed and shipped within Australia and New Zealand will be subject to local taxes.
Most products in the Printify catalog are taxable in Australia and New Zealand, although some items may be exempt depending on their category. Shipping fees are also taxable and usually follow the same tax rate as the rest of the order.
If you’re a registered taxpayer in Australia or New Zealand, you may be able to reclaim these taxes through your tax return.
Your Printify invoice will include details of all charges and taxes applied to your Australian and New Zealand orders, allowing you to use this information for your tax returns, if needed.
Marketplace orders (Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and TikTok Shop)
Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and TikTok Shop are registered marketplace facilitators. This means they are generally required to collect and remit Goods and Services Tax (GST) on behalf of their merchants:
- in Australia, unless you provide your Australian Business Number (ABN)
- in New Zealand, unless you provide your GST ID
To avoid double taxation, orders coming from these sales channels are automatically exempt from GST at Printify.
