How do I set up an Etsy shop?
This article guides you through the process of setting up your Etsy shop. Just follow the simple steps below to open your shop, which you can later connect to Printify for seamless integration.
Step 1: Create an Etsy account
If you don’t already have an Etsy account, visit Etsy.com and sign up. After registering, check your email for a confirmation message from Etsy and follow the instructions to verify your account.
Step 2: Open an Etsy shop
When you first create an Etsy account, it defaults to a buyer’s account, allowing you to browse, save favorites, and make purchases. To start selling on Etsy, follow these steps:
- Go to Etsy.com/sell and click Get started.
- Review and agree to Etsy’s terms.
- Answer any optional questions.
- Click Start your shop to proceed with the onboarding steps.
Step 3: Set your shop preferences
In this step, you’ll configure your shop’s basic settings by selecting your preferred language, country, and currency to match your target audience.
Once you’ve made your selections, click Save and continue to move on to the next step.
Step 4: Name your shop
Next, pick a unique name for your Etsy shop. Don’t worry—you can always change it later if needed. For guidance on choosing the perfect name, check out this Etsy article.
Once you’ve decided, click Save and continue to proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Stock your shop
Create your first product listing, which will serve as a temporary placeholder. Add a product title, upload an image, and complete the required listing fields. The specific details don’t matter at this stage, and you can delete this listing later.
Once finished, click Save and continue to proceed to the next step.
Step 6: Add your payment details
In this step, enter your payment information:
- Add your bank details, tax information, and personal details.
- Connect your bank and verify it.
- Verify your identity with a photo ID and selfie.
Once finished, click Save and continue to go to the next step.
Step 7: Share your billing information
Enter your billing information by adding your credit or debit card details. This will be used to cover Etsy fees and the one-time shop setup fee.
Once finished, click Review set-up fee & continue to go to the next step.
Step 8: Your shop security
For added security, set up two-factor authentication. Save your backup codes in a secure place, then complete the process to open your Etsy shop.
You have now successfully set up your Etsy shop and are ready to connect it to Printify to start selling.
