What are branding inserts?
Branding inserts are customizable cards that showcase your brand identity and convey messages to your customers. They can serve one or more of the following purposes:
- A “thank you” note with a branded design
- A discount code
- A QR code to leave a review
- Links to your social media profiles, etc.
Branding inserts will be printed on demand and included with every order fulfilled by a supporting Print Provider. If an order consists of multiple shipments from different supporting Print Providers, each shipment will contain a branding insert. The pricing for branding inserts is as follows:
- USD 0.10 per insert for Premium plan subscribers
- USD 0.15 per insert for those on the free plan, excluding tax.
The branding insert measures 6" x 4" (15.2 cm x 10.1 cm) and is printed on 170 gsm paper with a ~0.16" (4 mm) border all around that is visible on the mockup.
How can I find the products that support this feature in the catalog?
You can find the products that support the branding insert feature by applying a filter for “Inserts” in the Printify catalog. These supported products will display a “Branded inserts” badge next to the Print Provider option on the product page.

Is the design printed on one or both sides of the insert?
The design will be printed on one side of the insert only. The other side will be blank and remain white.
Does the branding insert support custom gift messages for each individual order (e.g., Etsy gift messages)?
Gift messages for Etsy orders can be enabled independently of branding inserts. You can also enable both features for your Etsy store. In that case, both inserts will be added to orders that were marked as a gift and contain a customer’s message.
Will the branding insert be added to those orders that were “On hold” at the time when the feature was enabled?
No, the branding insert will not be added to such orders. It will only be added to orders that are created after this feature is enabled.
What if I have updated the design, but need a reprint?
The reprint order will be fulfilled with the current branding insert that you have in the store settings. If you make further changes to the insert design, the reprint order will have the new version of the insert design.
If an order is “On hold” or “In production” and I update the insert design, will those changes be reflected in the insert for these orders?
No, the branding insert is added to an order at the time of creation, and any changes made to the design after that point will not be reflected in that particular order.
Can I have different inserts for different products within the same store?
While the standard functionality only allows for one version of an insert design at a time, there is a manual workaround where you can create an order with a specific insert design, then go back and update the design before creating another order with the updated design. This allows for customization of the insert design for each individual order, though it does require more manual effort.
Our team is currently working on another feature that will simplify the process of fulfilling custom orders with gift messages, reducing the need for manual work.
Can I see in the product/order list which products will be fulfilled with inserts?
You can’t directly find this information in the product/order list, however, you can filter the products by the Print Provider in the My products section to see which ones are fulfilled by a supported provider.
To verify if an order includes a branding insert, go to the order details page by clicking on the specific order. Below the ordered products, you’ll find a preview thumbnail of the branding insert. Click on it to expand the preview.
