What should I keep in mind when selling on TikTok Shop US?
TikTok Shop US is a rapidly growing and competitive global marketplace with millions of potential buyers. As with other online marketplaces, sellers must abide by the marketplace rules or risk store suspension.
Since TikTok’s rules are constantly evolving, we have compiled a list of dos and don’ts to help you build a successful TikTok shop and stay compliant with their latest policies.
Note
These are our recommendations for Printify sellers. For TikTok’s official guidelines, please refer to this article.
Dos
- Verify your TikTok account within 7 days of registration.
- Ensure you’re located in the US when accessing your TikTok Shop account.
- Set up shipping: pick-up and return warehouse, and shipping profile.
- Publish products exclusively from our TikTok Ready catalog and use our TikTok integration to ensure your orders meet TikTok’s handling time requirement of 2 business days.
- Always respect intellectual property and customer best practices.
- Use unique titles and descriptions for each product.
- Regularly add new products and avoid having an empty store.
- Keep your store active by creating engaging content.
- Stay updated on TikTok’s policy changes sent via email.
- Make sure your product listings are high quality. Use TikTok's Product Optimizer tool to enhance any listings that need improvement.
Don’ts
- Add any external links in your TikTok account bio.
- Choose products fulfilled by non-US print providers.
- Use profanities or sexually explicit content in your product designs or content.
- Use exaggerated claims in your product titles (avoid phrases like “Best T-shirt”).
- Open multiple shops on TikTok Shop.
- Connect using an indirect integration, such as Printify-Shopify-TikTok Shop. This can lead to issues with taxes and TikTok’s order processing requirements.
