How can I create a product with Printify?
Create unique products with Printify in just a few easy steps. Choose a Print Provider, then use our Product Creator tools to customize the design to your preferences. Finally, select product variants, provide a title, description, and set the price effortlessly.
Explore our video tutorial or follow simple steps described below to create your first product.
Step 1: Select a product to sell
Choose a product from the Printify Catalog and pick the most suitable Print Provider for your needs, considering factors such as location, color variants, or other criteria. If you’re creating a product for TikTok Shop, be sure to visit this article.
If you would like to conduct more in-depth research on each product, we recommend checking the manufacturer’s website (applies to branded products only).
Step 2: Upload your design
Upload a high-resolution image of your desired artwork or design, ensuring it meets the pixel requirements specified for each particular product. You can find these requirements in the side panel of the Product Creator when you click on Start designing.
For additional information, please visit our Must-Read Design Guide.
Step 3: Place and position your design
Adjust the size and placement of your design using the side panel to select your preferred alignment. Keep in mind that the alignment tool will affect your entire design file. Ensure that your main design elements are centered within the file.
Step 4: Choose your colors and sizes
Next, select the color options you want to offer to your customers. Click Select and choose the colors you want to make available for this product. All sizes of the selected colors will be automatically added to the product.
To adjust the availability of product sizes, navigate to the Size section within the same menu. Simply uncheck the sizes you wish to remove from the product.
Additionally, you’ll find the overall availability of each color and size variant listed there. Variants offering multiple Print Provider options have an advantage, as they can be easily routed in case of stock shortages.
After completing the design process, click Preview in the top right corner to view a mockup image of your design on various color variants. You can preview mockups in two different color modes: RGB (bright and vibrant) and CMYK (realistic, closer to the printed result).
Once you’re happy with it, click Save product to proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Edit your product details and prices
During this step, you can adjust the product details, including the title, description, and price.
You can preview the pricing of each product variant before proceeding to publish the product. Customize the pricing table columns to suit your needs by selecting or deselecting the column options.
- Retail price: The price that your store customers will pay for the product.
- Profit: The amount you will make from each sale (calculated as your retail price minus the Printify production price).
- Profit margin: The percentage of your retail price that becomes profit.
- Production cost: The Printify production price displayed in the Printify Catalog. This is the amount that Printify will charge you to print the product (in addition to the shipping charges).
You can adjust the retail price for all variants at once, or individually by hovering over each variant’s retail price.
Step 6: Publish the product to your store
In the final step, Shopify and Etsy users can choose from several options for out of stock variant visibility. For users with other integrations, note that out of stock variants will be automatically removed from the product upon publishing. Visit this article for more information.
